WHAT HAPPENS AT LAID OFF CAMP - COS

Laid Off Camp - COS is designed to be a relaxing and informative opportunity to learn from others, share ideas and network. The afternoon will feature discussion groups lead by experts in various fields that are relevant to the issues being encountered by people who are embarking on a career change and job search or who are planning to pursue self-employment.

Discussion groups start promptly at 2:00 pm and will continue until 5:30 pm. A social hour will immediately follow to allow people to relax with a beer or a glass of wine and network freely.

Chris Blees - CEO of Biggs-Kofford, P.C. will discuss how to structure your start up.

Brian Bennett - Owner of Bennco Advisors will discuss tapping into your 401K for capital while avaoiding tax penalties

HOW TO STAY POSITIVE AND MOUNT A SUCCESSFUL JOB SEARCH

Judy Beerbaum - professional career coach and former SCORE counselor will discuss "Getting hired without dancing on tables".

Kevin Knebl - Owner of Knebl Communications a Colorado based International speaking and training company will discuss social media and how to use it effectively for self promotion.

Jan Bonham - Owner of Express Employment Professionals  will discuss how to work with staffing services and headhunters to find full time and interim employment.

Kris Harty - Inspirational keynote speaker will discuss what it takes to stick to it no matter what!

Kimberly Hessler - Owner of HSHD careers will discuss finding woork within the Homeland Defence and Homeland Security sectors. 




Terry Zarsky from the Pikes Peak Library District will be on tap for consultation and information as will a host of other volunteers to share advice, conduct mock interviews, review resumes and network.  

Dita Dau - Business consultant will be avalaible to discuss your business ideas and how to implement them.

Joe Zeman - HR professional will be avalaibe for resume review.

Most importantly your fellow attendees are a great resource! Laid Off Camp participants are good people with whom to network. They are well educated, adults with valuable experience to share and their own connections in the community.
