‘Laid Off Camp-COS’ Offers Unemployed Opportunities and ideas in a Bad Economy

We need your help! Local business people come together to offer a one-day seminar, networking event and job fair for the unemployed and non-traditionally employed, called LAID OFF CAMP-COS. Local business owners with the support of The Pikes Peak Community Foundation have put this event together to get the people networking and thinking about ways to get through a time when many people are affected by unemployment. LAID OFF CAMPS are being held in major cities throughout the country and have been featured on NPR, BBC America and in numerous news dailies. Laid Off Camp - COS is seeking support from sponsoring companies and organizations who wish to join other pro-community organizations in funding this event. All sponsorship money goes directly to the operation of Laid Off Camp- COS.

Laid Off Camp- COS provides the unemployed and nontraditionally employed an opportunity to meet, mix and share knowledge with each other as well as experts in a variety fields. A series of speakers will hold open workshops and presentations on a variety of issue that effect the recently unemployed, those looking for traditional employment as well as people who are looking for advice on starting their own businesses. Employers and sponsors from local companies will be present and join in a mixer that brings them together with degreed, tech and mid career individuals who are unemployed. This is a free event open to anyone who wants to learn and share their knowledge with others.
